Apple Fritter Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with non-stick spray or butter.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with sour cream in two or three additions. Mix until just combined.
5. In a small bowl, combine the chopped apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Toss to coat the apples evenly.
6. Spoon half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread half of the apple mixture over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and apple mixture.
7. Use a knife to gently swirl the apple mixture throughout the bread batter.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
9. Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
10. Enjoy! This Apple Fritter Bread is perfect for breakfast or as a delicious snack.
